Judith Nevin, also known fondly as “Humma”, passed away on December 27, 2025 at The Heritage in Edison, NJ. She was born on May 28, 1944.
Judith was a woman who lived life entirely on her own terms. She was known for her feisty spirit, sharp sense of humor, and love of a good prank. Among Judie’s passions in life were her family, support for veterans, traveling, photography, and the New York Jets (especially Wesley Walker). And most of all she adored her dogs Wesley, Joe Willie and Tebow. Judith also appreciated the finer things—she never passed up a great pocketbook, a beautiful watch, or a fabulous pair of shoes.
At the end of her career, Judie worked as a legal secretary for the same group of attorneys for over 17 years, across multiple law firms. Her work ethic was legendary; her attorneys often worked 12-15 hour days, and Judie was right there with them late into the night, answering phones, coordinating nightly dinners and generally acting as mother hen to all. In the days when business was still conducted largely in person and over landline phones, Judie was the main point of contact for everyone’s clients and family members; she knew them all, and they knew her, and many developed close and lasting relationships. To quote one of her lawyers, “She was one helluva dame, not easy, but memorable, and an unrelenting force in our lives and careers.”
She is survived by her brother Raymond (Diane—now deceased), her daughter Sara (Kenneth) and her son Michael (Erin). She leaves behind several grandchildren, a great-grandchild and multiple nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be private.
