It is with profound sadness that we announce that Joseph Carmine Natale, “Uncle Joe”, “Bones”, “B-Bones”, passed away at 94 years old on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Edison, NJ.
Uncle Joe was born on March 26, 1930, in “the down neck section” of Newark, NJ, to Joseph and Lucia Natale. He was one of 11 children, 6 brothers and 5 sisters. He attended East Side High School. He was drafted and then inducted into the military on October 15, 1951, and was appointed a private, first class in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served during the Korean War, until he was wounded by mortar fire and subsequently received a purple heart for his actions. He later worked on the assembly lines for the General Motors Corporation for many years. Uncle Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, watching baseball and football and cooking.
He is survived by his younger sister, AnnMarie Tanzola and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by 9 siblings. Uncle Joe will be greatly missed by many who will remember his sharp wit and ability to keep up with the younger generations in our family.
Funeral services will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home in Edison, NJ on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.
