Joseph (Tommy) Miller, 84, passed away peacefully on 12/31/2025. Tommy was born in Jersey City November 14, 1941. Tommy grew up in Jersey City during the 50 & 60’s as a member of the Jersey City “Dukes”; a tough crew, but known as an easygoing protective neighborhood brotherhood which fit his personality. He later became a career assembly worker for General Motors in various plants. As a simple, hardworking man he was happiest while enjoying his daily pork roll egg and cheese breakfasts, a day of fishing anywhere along the Jersey Shore, and enjoying life with “Joan”, his life-long love and his two daughters.
Tommy is predeceased by his wife of 40 years; Joan Miller, whom he loved deeply and cared for throughout their life together, up to and including her untimely death. He is survived by his two daughters, Debra Oliver, Lee Ann Swanda and her partner David Byrnes. His grandchildren include Patrick Oliver, Kelsey Novelle, her husband Aaron, Brianne Slattery and her husband Neil, and Jordyn Scinto and her husband Patrick. He also has two great-grandsons, Oliver & Everett who made him laugh while watching them play at home and on videos.
Service will be at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia at 12 Noon on Monday January 5, 2026.
