Joseph Peter Bass (Joe), 95, of Roselle, NJ passed peacefully on February 5, 2026.
Joe was born in Jersey City on October 21, 1930 to Wojciech and Anna Bass. He grew up in Jersey City and Elizabeth, NJ with his parents, sister Alice and brother Alex. He served as an Airman Second Class in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War. He loved music and spent his early career years teaching music to high school students. After working in the family restaurant business, he decided to continue on that path which led him to becoming a bartender; his latest position was at Colonia Country Club in Colonia, NJ. He spent the rest of his working years as a bartender, meeting many people including the love of his life Evelyn (Evey) Geluso. Everyone loved Joe and always had the same thing to say; "what a truly good man". Evey and Joe married on October 21, 1990 and lived in Roselle, NJ, with their many pets. Joe continued to enjoy music throughout his life; playing his piano daily. He was an avid golfer and played often; travelling to Florida many times. He also enjoyed cooking, using the vegetables he grew in his garden and to create meals for his family. Joe had an impact on every person he met with his never ending positive attitude. To know Joe, was to know everything was marvelous. He always said that he was lucky to have his family. But the truth is, his family was more lucky to have him. Joe is survived by his wife Evey, their pets Lulu and Vanessa and his nieces and nephews that all love him dearly.
