John J. Karpa, 65, passed away on Saturday January 11, 2020. He was born in Irvington, NJ, and resided in Colonia and Toms River before moving to Bordentown 6 years ago. John graduated Colonia High School in 1972 and attended Kean County College. During high school he started at McDonald’s working his way up to manager. Later he was employed by Verizon for 29 years, retiring in 2010.
John loved watching sports and was an avid StL Cardinals fan. He loved spending time in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, and enjoyed traveling and vacationing, especially taking cruises to the Caribbean, Bermuda and Canada.
John is predeceased by his parents, Katherine and Joseph Karpa. He is survived by his beloved partner, Craig Kintner, sister, Karen Kelber and husband Don, brother, Dennis Karpa and wife Maria, four nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, John, Kristofer and Briana, and five great nieces and nephews. John was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
The Visitation will take place from 4-8PM on Friday January 17th at the Gosselin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday January 18th at the Gosselin Funeral Home at 8AM.
A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday January 18th at St. John Vianney Church in Colonia at 9AM. Internment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.
