John H Fitzsimmons

John Fitzsimmons 96, of Colonia, NJ passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024 after a long illness. He was

born in Orange, NJ. He resided in Union and Elizabeth before enlisting in the Navy. He served during

World War II and returned home before being reactivated for the Korean War. He took great pride in

being a Navy veteran and attended numerous reunions of the USS Cimarron where he enjoyed meeting

up with his shipmates and visiting around the country. He was a pipefitter and lifetime member of UA

Local 274. He was predeceased by his wife Rose and is survived by his daughter Kathleen and nieces

Patricia Rotonda and Susan (Kevin) Sands and nephews Paul (Li Yan) and Thomas (Jeri) Donahue.

     Visitation is Friday April 19, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New

Dover Road, Edison. Interment will be private.
