John Francis “Jack” Devlin, Jr., 90, of Ewing, New Jersey, passed away on September 29, 2025, at Capital Health Medical Center - Hopewell in Pennington, New Jersey.
Jack was born in Trenton, New Jersey, to John and Margaret (Isdell) Devlin on February 16, 1935. Upon graduation from Trenton Central High School in 1954, Jack enlisted in the United States Air Force as an aviation cadet. After completing his training as a navigator-bombardier at Harlingen Air Force Base in Texas, Jack was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force. Over a decorated 25-year career in the Strategic Air Command in which he was stationed at bases across the country, Jack flew numerous aircraft including the B-47, B-52, and FB-111, and he served his country in Southeast Asia in 1970. Upon receiving his honorable discharge from the Air Force as a Major in 1977 at Plattsburgh AFB in New York, Jack moved to Edison, New Jersey, where he worked first as a dental lab technician and then as a service manager for Eastcom Associates until he retired in 2004. Jack and his beloved wife, Kathleen, loved spending time with their family (and spoiling their grandchildren and great-grandchildren) and travelling around the country to see their friends from the service, whether at reunions or otherwise. Jack moved to Ewing after the death of his beloved wife, Kathleen, in 2012.
Jack is survived by his son Peter Devlin and spouse Princess of Winchester, Massachusetts; daughter Sharon Momot and spouse John of Morrisonville, New York; sister Virginia Mihalik and spouse Michael of Southampton, New Jersey; grandchildren Erin Warshauer, John Devlin, Megan Patel, Katie Hopper, Casey Devlin, Jackson Devlin, and Nora Devlin; seven great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and his long-time companion, Elizabeth Bryson. He is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen; son Timothy; parents John and Margaret; and sister Patricia Bowman.
Visitation will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, New Jersey, on October 10, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A blessing will take place at the Gosselin Funeral Home on October 11, 2025, at 10 a.m., followed by entombment with military honors at Saint Gertrude Mausoleum, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, New Jersey, at 11 a.m.
