John Matthew Davis of Iselin, NJ passed suddenly into eternity on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
John was born in Clinton, NC on January 31, 1963 to Norman and Lynette Davis (nee. Norton). The youngest of five children, John adored his mother and father, and loved his siblings dearly. He attended Union High School and afterward he immediately joined the workforce.
In 1986, John met Rosemarie Davis (nee. Johnson) at The Occupational Center of Union County where they both worked at the time. John and Rosemarie married in 1989 and raised three children together - Eric, Alyssa, and Evan. His wife and children were his pride and joy.
John was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Aside from his family, John was most proud of his business, Pneuquip, which he started in his home garage in the 1990s and grew to be a thriving business operating in Metuchen today.
When he wasn’t hard at work, John loved spending time with family, doting on his grandchildren, and road-tripping with his wife and, in recent years, his mother-in-law. He was very patriotic, and although he lived in New Jersey almost all of his life, he was very proud of his southern roots. John loved to make people laugh. Whether he was telling dad jokes, playfully teasing his loved ones or doing the “chicken wing” dance with his grandchildren, he always managed to bring a smile to people’s faces.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Rosemarie, and his devoted children Eric Davis of Somerset, NJ; Alyssa Marold (Eric) of Somerset, NJ; and Evan Davis (Allyson) of Keyport, NJ. John was a very proud “Grandpops” to his grandchildren Lily Davis and Jack Davis, and was very excited about his third grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his treasured nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his dear siblings Randy Davis, Kathleen Cacchiola, and Norman Davis.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the Gosselin Funeral Home - 660 New Dover Road, Edison.
The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10:00AM at Saint Cecelia Roman Catholic Church in Iselin, followed by interment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.
