Joanne Lubia Flatley, 77, of Toms River, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by
her loving family on Monday, January 10th, 2022.
Joanne was born in Newark on October 7th, 1944 to Eva Zalac and John Kowalewski. She was
a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1962. A year after graduating, Joanne married
her high school sweetheart, Joseph Flatley, in November 1963. They moved to Iselin in 1976
with their three children, John, Tracy, and Linda. Joanne worked at Hyatt Berrings in Clark and
then Napa Auto Parts until her retirement.
She loved to travel, preferably anywhere with a beautiful beach. Joanne also loved dancing and
spending time with her family and friends while enjoying a glass of chilled white wine (or a
piping hot cup of coffee, depending on the mood).
Joanne is survived by her husband, Joseph; her son John, wife Kathy; her daughter Tracy,
husband Craig; her daughter Linda, husband John; sister Roxanne, husband Tony; her four
grandchildren Johnny, Samantha, Michael, and Kristen; and many cousins, nieces, and
nephews. She will be greeted at the Gates of Heaven by her beloved chihuahua, Jazzy, waiting
to welcome her home.
Visitation Thursday January 13,2022 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home. Blessing Friday January 14, 2022 10:00am at the funeral home followed by entombment at St Gertrude Cemetery Colonia.
