Joan H. Zannetti (née Skiba), 91, formerly of Colonia, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Joan was the daughter of the late Andrew Skiba and Clara (Stachkowsky) Skiba and the sister of the late John J. Skiba. She later moved to Colonia, where she and her husband, Gene, of 54 years raised their family.
Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eugene Zannetti, Sr.
She is survived by her loving son, Eugene Zannetti Jr., and his wife, Geralyn; her daughter, Deborah Zannetti; and her son, Bruce Zannetti, and his wife, Rose. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Lauren Falk; Cheryl Carbone and her husband, Chris; Michelle Fisco and her husband, Michael; Eugene Zannetti III and his wife, Gina; Jeffrey Zannetti and his wife, Lisa; Father Gregory Zannetti; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia (Zannetti) Foglietta and her husband, John, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grandma Joan, as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren, was famous for her delicious beef soup and for filling her home with beautiful music from her piano and a warm smile. She was a constant source of love, support, and quiet strength—always ready to listen, always ready to talk about life, and always happy to cook for anyone who walked through her door.
Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome. When the doorbell rang, she would stop whatever she was doing and joyfully sing, “Hail, hail, the gang’s all here!”—a simple phrase that perfectly captured her generous spirit and her delight in being surrounded by family and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Gosselin funeral home in Edison on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John Vianney Church in Colonia on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, 3 St. Joseph’s Terrace, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
