JoAnn Judith Ardito (Favata) was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Anthony and Marie Favata. JoAnn moved to the Down Neck section of Newark, NJ where she graduated from East Side High School. She was Captain of the Twirlers and dated Drum Major, Michael Ardito. JoAnn and Michael were married on her birthday in 1965. Mike and JoAnn were known to be the best dancers in the room, impressing all with their favorite dance, the Jitterbug. They moved to Edison in 1979, where they raised their 3 children.
JoAnn worked as a babysitter, a bank teller, and bookkeeper for UPS. She was an avid bowler, she bowled a perfect game and bowled in many leagues over the years. She enjoyed working the election polls for over 30 years, listening to jazz music, and watching her favorite reality and talk shows. She made a pot of gravy every Sunday morning, serving family dinner, either before or after the NY Giants football games. JoAnn was also known for making the best brownies.
JoAnn was predeceased by her husband, Michael, her son, Donald, and brother Liborio (Buster).
JoAnn is survived by her children Alicia Lordi (husband Jim) of Clark, NJ, John Ardito of Edison, NJ; daughter in law Susanne Ardito of South Plainfield; her sister, Antoinette DiPiazza of Manchester; and grandchildren Isabella, Alexander, Olivia, James, Matthew, Michael and Giaele.
