Jo-Ann Demkowicz Obituary

Jo-Ann Demkowicz, 73, of Edison, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 29, 2025.

Jo-Ann was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Joseph & Anne Palys on February 29, 1952. She went to high school at St. Patrick’s in Elizabeth, NJ and graduated as Salutatorian in 1970. She went on to earn a certificate as a Medical Assistant from Union County Tech. Soon after she went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Walter in 1973. After starting a family and raising 2 boys, she returned to work as a Coordinator for Modern Handling Equipment Co. for 31 years. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City, Shopping, Spending time with her grandkids and relaxing weekends on the boat with friends and family, old and new.

Jo-Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years, Walter, her children, Steven and his wife, Denise, and Danny and his partner, Allison Raychel. She is also survived by her 3 cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Angelina and Haddie. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 2 brothers Joseph and Richard Palys. 

Viewing and service will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Blessing will take place at 6:30 PM.

Jo-Ann will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and an adored Nan, who will be forever in our hearts!
