Jean Marie Corvino, 96, of Iselin, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 16 at home.
Jean was born in Irvington, NJ to Blase and Fanny Ambrose on December 11, 1928.
She attended Irvington High School and graduated in 1946.
That fall she began her studies at Montclair State College and graduated with a teaching degree in 1950.
Jean and her husband Ted met at a college graduation party and had their first date a week later.
They were wed in 1955, started a family, and resided in Irvington, NJ, before moving to their forever home in Iselin, NJ, in 1962.
Jean was a homemaker when her children were young and returned to teaching in 1969.
She taught 5th grade at Lynn Crest School in Colonia, NJ, and had a genuine passion for working with her students. She retired in 1990.
Jean had a wide range of hobbies, with a special fondness for gardening, puzzles, reading, and traveling. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jeanne and Leonard Daniele of North Ft Myers Florida, her sons and daughters-in-law Ted W. and Flor Corvino of Piscataway, NJ and Richard and Denise Corvino of NY, NY.
She is also survived by four grandchildren and their spouses, Valerie and Roei Schuster of NY, NY, Alex and Trinere Daniele of Cape Coral, Florida, Carly Daniele of Hoboken, NJ and Maria and Ivan Gonzalez of East Brunswick, NJ. She loved her great-grandchildren Elizabeth and Layla and her granddoggies Ellie and Mac.
Jean was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Ted R. Corvino of Iselin, NJ, her parents Blase and Fanny Ambrose of Irvington NJ, and her sister Lois Kemick of Ermo, South Carolina.
Visitation will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd Edison, NJ 08820 on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 4-8 pm
Mass will be offered on Friday, April 25 at 10:15 am at St Cecilia’s Church,
