Iris Wirth of Colonia NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 21, 2023.
Iris was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and moved to New York City as a child. Iris spent most of her childhood and young adulthood in the City.
Iris’s dream was to one day move to the suburbs. She was able to make that a reality when she and her husband Charlie purchased their home in Colonia in 1966. She was very proud of accomplishing that goal and lived in her home for 57 years where she raised their family. She took great pride in decorating it and made it a welcoming home for family and friends. Iris was a fabulous host, who adored celebrating holidays in her home filled to the brim with family and friends. Nothing made her happier.
Iris was a baker by trade who loved decorating beautifully elaborate cakes. She was an avid doll collector with an extensive collection. She also loved gardening, sewing, decorating and painting.
Iris’s family brought great joy to her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Charlie, her brother Raymond and sisters Gladys and Phyllis.
She is survived by daughter Alice and her husband Toñin; son Michael and his wife Carol; son Charles; grandsons Tony and Johnnie; great grandsons Jovannie and Junior, and great granddaughter Jenae; along with her very loving niece and nephews.
Iris will be deeply missed.
