Irene L. Santangelo (Pienciak), 96, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024
at Atlantic Coast Nursing Home in Lakewood, NJ. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Irene resided in Colonia, for
many years before moving to Toms River in 1995.
Irene retired from Macy's, Menlo Park in 1995 after a long career as a sales associate.
Irene enjoyed gardening, oil painting (especially with her friend Joan and a glass of wine) cooking and
relaxing throughout her golden years with her husband Carmen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Louis Widuch, her husband Carmen Santangelo,
her first husband, Matthew Pienciak, a sister, Stephanie Kowalski.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Christine St Leon of Colonia, NJ, Louise Hartzog of Flemington, NJ,
dear sons Matthew and wife Barbara Pienciak of Princeton, NJ, John Pienciak of De Borgia, MT, David
Santangelo of Flemington, NJ, Thomas and wife Karen Santangelo of Holiday, FL and grandson John
and wife Lindsey Pienciak of No. Brunswick, NJ and great grandchildren Max and Anna.
An internment will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 10:00 am at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia,
NJ 07067.
