Ida Ann Hood

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing away of Ida Ann “Dolly” Hood on June 30, 2023. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, and resided in NJ for most of her life, later relocating to North Carolina and Florida. She worked in real estate and insurance throughout her career, and was actively involved in many civic, social, and educational organizations. She served on the Manasquan Board of Education, and the Ocean County Board of Realtors for several years.

A devout Catholic, Dolly was always ready to help those in need and cared deeply for her friends and family. She was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her loving husband Noel Hood, children; Michele Fite, Colleen Hood and Michael Hood, grandchildren; Nicholas Salerno, Hayden Fite, Megan Smith and Kaitlyn Smith, and a great granddaughter, Layla Salerno.

Visitation will take place at Gosselin Funeral Home in Edison, NJ on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Colonia, NJ at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, with entombment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery immediately following. We will miss her deeply but are comforted knowing that she is with our Lord Jesus Christ.
