It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gregory Werthwein, 69, of Edison, NJ, on December 7, 2025.
Born in 1956, Greg spent most of his life in Carteret, NJ, where he built lasting friendships and created countless memories. He loved vacationing to Florida, relaxing with family in Wildwood Crest, sharing time and laughter with friends, listening to music, and cheering on his favorite teams. A devoted sports enthusiast, Greg was a proud supporter of the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and NASCAR.
Greg is predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Elizabeth (Betty) Werthwein (née Fitchko), and by his beloved wife, Gail Werthwein (née Fitzpatrick).
He is survived by his brothers, Joseph Werthwein and James Werthwein, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to honor Greg’s life at a celebration of life memorial service on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Gosselin’s Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ.
