Gregory Gomes was born on November 24, 1956 in Newark, NJ to Mario Gomes and Barbara Vrabel Gomes. In 1962 he and his family moved to Iselin, NJ, where he would spend the rest of his childhood, graduating from Iselin’s John F. Kennedy High School. Greg earned a Bachelor’s degree from Kean University and was an educator for many years at numerous schools throughout NJ. He then transitioned to working with individuals with special needs, a career which he retired from in 2022. Greg was an avid NY Mets and NY Giants fan, and some of his many hobbies included astronomy, model trains, playing volleyball, and beach combing. Greg was also a prolific fiction writer, having authored many stories over the years, two of which were published. Greg was predeceased by his parents Mario and Barbara. He is survived by his son Bryan Gomes (Jasmine), his sister Barbara Lynne Gomes McCue (James), as well as many other extended family members
