Gloria Chiong 80, of Woodbridge, NJ peacefully passed away at home in the early hours of October 13, 2025. She was surrounded by those who cared for her.
Born in Manila, Philippines on February 24, 1945 to Mr. Chiong Phai Hun and Mrs. Chiong Gan Eng Du, she graduated from Hope Christian High School and the University of the East with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. Gloria worked for a Stock brokerage firm in the Philippines before migrating to New York to join her mother and other siblings. She worked for Manhattan Savings Bank and took continuing education classes in programming at NYU, eventually retiring from Merrill Lynch.
Gloria’s life was most distinguished by her faithful service to the Lord. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and compassion. She was a steadfast supporter of those in ministry—especially young people who desired to serve God but faced financial challenges—and she quietly extended help to pastors and church workers in need.
Sister Gloria also demonstrated profound devotion to her family. She lovingly cared for her mother in her later years, attending to her day and night during illness. When her sister Jane became unwell, and later when her sister Anna lost her husband and suffered from dementia—Sister Gloria once again stepped forward with compassion, taking both older sisters into her home and caring for them with patience and love. Her selflessness was a living testimony of the command to “love one another as I have loved you.”
In the early hours of October 13, 2025, at approximately 2a.m., the Lord called Sister Gloria home to Himself. At the age of 80, she peacefully laid aside all earthly burdens and entered into her eternal rest in the presence of her Savior. She is survived by her siblings, nieces and nephews, godchildren, friends who deeply love her.
To God be the glory for the beautiful life and faithful witness of Sister Gloria Chiong.
