Glenda Lynn " Vicki" Baumann Schneider

Glenda Lynn “Vicki” (Gail) Baumann-Schneider, 86 of Iselin, NJ, passed away on August 8th, 2025 in East Hanover, NJ.

Vicki was born in New York City, NY on October 27, 1935, and was later adopted by Doris and Alfred Gail. She was raised in Newark, NJ and graduated first in her class from Archbishop Walsh High School. She married Joseph Paul Baumann on April 21, 1960, and together raised four children, Joseph, Lauren, Andrew and Thomas “Todd”. Once her children began to enter high school, she started her career working for Royal Foods, Eastern Airlines and Kiwi Airlines. Working for Eastern Airlines provided the opportunity for her family to explore and begin their love of travelling. She was an avid reader and shared her love of reading with her nine grandchildren. She enjoyed a wide range of reading materials from the literary classics to her guilty pleasure of People magazine. All who knew her remembered her not only for her kindness, but for her intelligence as well. She could outsmart anybody in a game of trivia and was able to answer nearly every Jeopardy question and complete the NY Times crossword puzzle until the very end. Her love for family and friends was always most important to her and she relished time spent with them; she would often share fond memories of all those that she loved. Vicki loved playing hijinks and even took her four young kids out on mischief night to soap car windows and toilet paper neighbor’s trees. Her house was known as the “fun” house to her many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Vicki’s warmth could be felt through her smile, which she rarely was without. Her family will miss her dearly and will cherish her selfless love and her guiding principle that family always comes first.

Vicki is survived by her sons Joseph Baumann (Kathleen) of Chatham, NJ, Andrew Baumann (Stephanie) of Davie, Florida and Todd Baumann (Noel) of Branchburg, NJ as well as her grandkids Joseph Alexander (Juli), Grace, Philip, William, Timothy, Megan, Amelia, Anthony, Natalie and great grandson Joseph Cameron. She is preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Baumann who passed away in 1993 and her second husband Leonard Schneider who passed away in 2020. Vicki joins her daughter Lauren Baumann in death in what we know will be a beautiful reunion.

Visitation will be held on FRIDAY, AUGUST 15th from 6pm to 8pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd, Edison, NJ 08820.

Funeral service will be held on SATURDAY, AUGUST 16th at the funeral home from 8:30am to 9:30am followed by a 10am funeral mass at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church Colonia, NJ.

Burial will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
