Glen E Porbansky

Glen Porbansky, a lifelong resident of Woodbridge Township NJ, passed away on July 1, 2026 at the age of 65. Born in 1961, Glen grew up in Colonia. The second of seven children, he lived in a home where there was never a dull moment; that energy fueled by love is what Glen carried with him for his entire life. 

A 1978 graduate of Colonia High School and a dedicated employee of the Middlesex Water Company until his retirement in 2024, Glen’s roots were firmly planted where he was raised. Despite having firm roots, Glen was every bit a free spirit who loved spending time on his Harley Davidson. His adventures will live on as family lore, and his family will be forever grateful that he left them so many with stories worth sharing.  

Glen was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Barbara Porbansky. He is survived by his beloved daughter Nicole (Justin) Hackett as well as his granddaughter Eleanor. Additionally, Glen is survived by remaining siblings: his sisters, Jill (Michael) Goldberg, Lynn Porbansky,  Kathi (Timothy) O’Neill and Karen (Rick) Hanley and his brothers Mark (Theresa) Porbansky and Robert (Denise) Porbansky as well as his many beloved nieces and nephews and even more beloved great nieces and great nephews. 

Everyone who was lucky enough to know Glen, knew him as Uncle Glen because he loved everyone and was loved by everyone he crossed paths with. He was Uncle Magic: life of the party, curator of the world’s greatest Easter egg hunts, professional photobomber, master of the prank call, epic trickster. Every summer his pool was opened for the sole purpose of watching others enjoy it. Every wedding was an opportunity to make people smile at his expert dance moves. Every family gathering was a chance to make everyone laugh when he joined in on the games. Wherever Uncle Glen was, there was no shortage of fun. His one- of- a- kind, self deprecating sense of humor paired with his kindness and selflessness endeared Uncle Glen to everyone. His generosity extended to all those in his orbit, his family and the friends and neighbors that he never hesitated to treat like family. 

Glen’s legacy is the unending love he had for his family and the happy memories he is leaving behind.
