George Yager, Jr. Obituary

George passed away peacefully on March 28, 2021 after living a life of love, faith and an unwavering commitment to his family.

George was born and raised in Duryea, PA to George and Anna Yager with his sister Doris and brother Bob.  It was in Duryea that he met his eternal love and future wife, Audrey.

Once married, George and Audrey moved to New Jersey where George worked for Exxon as a Computer System Analyst for 30 years.

They began their life in Elizabeth, NJ.  Once they started their family, they settled in Colonia, NJ to raise their three beautiful children.  The life that they created in Colonia was one full of memories, neighborhood parties, little league games and lifelong friends.

George and Audrey had a great life filled with family, friends and love. They enjoyed their day trips to AC, nights spent walking along the boardwalk and weekends in the Poconos -- but there was nothing more important to them then the time spent back home in Duryea.

George was kind, humble and dependable and lived up to that every single day.  After losing his wife unexpectedly in 1994, George devoted his life to his family.  His grandchildren became his pride and joy. From every baseball game to every concert and every school pick up in between, you could count on Grandpa to always be there.

George was an avid gardener, and had a green thumb when it came to his flower/vegetable gardens and his apple tree.  He always had a well landscaped lawn.  He enjoyed woodworking when he retired, building beautiful furniture for his family that will be passed on for generations, from desks to bookshelves and even a cradle for his grandchildren.

In his final days he was surrounded by his children who adored him.  He is reunited with his parents, siblings and beloved wife in Heaven.  He is survived by his children, Karen (Somerset, NJ), Ann Marie (Cranford, NJ) and George, and his wife Lisa (Randolph, NJ), and his grandchildren, Kyle, Marissa, John and Tommy, along with an abundance of friends and family that will miss him terribly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in George's memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
