Frederick A Holt, Jr.

Frederick Aloysius Holt, 88, of Edison, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025.

Fred was born in Jersey City on March 18, 1937, to Catherine McGraw and Frederick Aloysius Holt, Senior.  Fred grew up watching car races at Hinchcliffe Stadium and spending time with his siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins in Jersey City.  Fred graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ in 1955.  

Following high school, Fred served his country in the United States Army in Germany.

After discharge, Fred held a variety of odd jobs including truck driver and carnival roadie until he landed a job at Manhattan Rubber.  There he met his wife of 47 years, Eileen Holonich.  He retired from American Home Products as Vice President of Transportation, where he worked for over 25 years.  

Fred graduated from Rutgers University with his MBA in 1971--the same year his fourth daughter was born.

Fred enjoyed spending time with his family and attended every family event without fail.  His sense of humor, timeless advice and knack for story telling will be remembered forever by his family.  Fred loved to travel and supported NJ Performing Arts and donated generously to several charities.

Fred is survived by his four daughters, Kathleen Holt and her partner Tom Horvath, Kristen Gaskins and her husband John, Kara Kaldawi, Kerri Holt and his seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Katherine, Thomas, Leah, Karina, Chad and Rebecca.

Fred is also survived by his sisters Elizabeth Gross and Veronica Coughlin and his brother William Holt and wife Carmela.

Fred is preceded in death by his wife Eileen.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 4to 8 PM at Gosselin Funeral Home in Edison, NJ.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 10 AM at St Helena RC Church in Edison, NJ followed by entombment at St Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
