Frank Tacca, born in 1935, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Frank lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life.
Frank was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey, by his late parents Theresa and Frank Tacca, Sr. His childhood summers were spent on his grandfather’s farm in Pennsylvania, memories he always spoke of with great fondness. After high school, he entered the Air Force, where he learned skills that would become the foundation of his career. Shortly after his discharge, Frank met his late wife, Joan. They married on his 25th birthday and spent over 60 wonderful years in their Colonia home, where they raised their four children: Carolann, Stephen, Michele, and David.
Frank spent most of his career as an airline mechanic, first with Eastern Airlines and later with Air Aruba. He approached his work with dedication and skill, earning the respect of his colleagues and ensuring the safety of countless travelers. Outside of work, Frank loved following the stock market, tending to his tomato plants, and sharing stories of his many adventures—whether it was running liquor from Greenland, witnessing the first Arkansas school integration, or assembling a Jeep sent piece by piece from Italy. His work in aviation also gave him the opportunity to travel. His favorite trips were always those to Aruba with Joan. In his passing, they are now reunited and can continue their adventures together.
Family meant the world to Frank, and the greatest joy in his life was being a grandfather. In addition to his four children, he was blessed with five grandsons: Matthew, Brian, Danny, Brody, and James. His eyes lit up whenever he spoke of them, and his love will remain a guiding presence in their lives.
Frank is survived by his children and grandchildren. He was a family icon and will be remembered for his steady hands, strength and love of family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
