Frank Joseph Pearce Jr., a lifelong New Jersey resident, passed away peacefully on June 28,2026, at the age of 96.

Born in 1930, Frank grew up in Iselin, New Jersey. As the eldest of six siblings, 3 boys and 3 girls, he learned the values of responsibility, family, and hard work at an early age. Frank was a dedicated and reliable worker, from his first job setting pins at the Highland Park Bowling Alley, being a ticket agent at the original New York Pennsylvania Station, to spending many years employed at the L’Oreal factory in Clark, NJ before his retirement.

In 1955, Frank answered the call to serve his country, serving in the United States Army until 1957. The year 1955 also marked the beginning of his marriage to his beloved wife, Dolores. The two shared 11 beautiful years together until her tragic and untimely passing in 1965. Though they had no children, Frank carried her memory with him throughout the rest of his long life, never marrying again.

Frank found his greatest joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. He became a fixture at Roosevelt Park from the time he was a child, watching the park and lake be built. He could almost always be found there, parked in his car or van, playing his favorite music, and feeding the local pigeons and other birds. He truly earned his nickname as "The Bird and Music Man of Roosevelt Park.” His presence brought a sense of quiet peace and consistency. He will be deeply missed by his family, neighbors, and those who may have come across him at the park. He spent his last days at the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home in Edison, NJ, working on his puzzles and still finding time to spend with the birds.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Dolores, his brothers and sisters. He was the last remaining sibling alive. He is survived by his loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A memorial service to honor Frank’s life will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, July 10th at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd. Edison, NJ 08820 with an interment service following at the Clover Leaf Memorial Park at 1 Cemetery Rd, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07095. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests taking a quiet moment in nature/at Roosevelt Park or making a donation to the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home.
