Frank Grossman Obituary

Frank J. Grossman, 92, of Colonia, NJ, passed away peacefully in his loving home on December 1, 2025.

Frank was born in Peekskill, New York to Frank and Gertrude Grossman on February 19, 1933. After his family moved to Rahway, New Jersey, he attended Rahway High School and graduated in 1951. He was drafted in 1953 into the Army and after his honorable discharge he worked as a sheet metal fabricator with Paul Miller sheet metal local 22 until he retired in 1996.

Frank met his late wife Barbara during a “pen pal” campaign with the troops during the Korean War and was married to her for 67 years; he is survived by three daughters: Arlene Antonellis, Sandra Eidson with her husband David, Mary Ann Grossman with her husband Walter Beland, and two grandchildren Kyle and Bryan Eidson.

He enjoyed in his spare time: spending days at their cottage on Lake Owassa, vegetable gardening where he made his own secret plant mix that helped him win several best in show blue ribbons for his vegetable entries at the Sussex County Farm and Horse shows. He loved fresh and salt water fishing, deer and rabbit hunting, wildlife/bird watching, watching football, baseball and ice hockey games especially the NY Rangers and NY Giants. He was an excellent carpenter, multi-talented and whatever he decided to do, he taught himself to master the task at hand. He always took pride in helping others and especially fellow Veterans enroll in the Department of Veterans Affairs health care system, so they could receive benefits that they were entitled to. He was caring, loving, kind.
