Frances A. Pocalyko, devoted wife, mother and nurse, died peacefully on Friday, May 12 at her Doylestown, PA home, surrounded by her family and friends after a brief, courageous battle with
cancer. She was 60.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, Fran grew up in Colonia and was a 1981 graduate of John F. Kennedy Memorial High School. Fran excelled in school and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Delaware in 1985. She was a registered nurse with a concentration in psychiatric services. She married her college sweetheart, David, in 1991. Fran’s greatest pride and joy was her beloved son Matthew. She enjoyed nature, music, dining out and caring for their current and past homes in Wayne, San Diego, and Ann Arbor. She and David travelled extensively, vacationing in Italy, Greece, Costa Rica and throughout the United States.
Fran was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Patricia Dunn of Colonia. She is survived by her husband, David, her son, Matthew, her sisters, Kathleen Perez and her husband, John, Lori Milford and her husband Timothy, her nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation 4:00–8:00 pm on Friday, May 19th at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ. Funeral Services 10:30am Saturday, May 20th at St Agnes Catholic Church, 332 Madison Hill Road, Clark, NJ.
In a few months, the family will hold a Celebration of Life memorial for Fran near their home in Doylestown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
