She immigrated from Italy to the United States in 1968 and got married to her loving husband Vincenzo on June 27, 1970.
Filomena is survived by her husband of 55 years, Vincenzo, of Metuchen, New Jersey. She is also survived by her daughter, Stefania Meola and son-in-law Anthony, of Bayville, New Jersey and her daughter Sonia Hook and son-in-law Jerry, of Spotswood, New Jersey. She is predeceased by her parents, Vito Nicola and Maria Rosaria Cicchetti, and her siblings Alfonso, Gerardo, Domenico, Rocco, Generoso, Gennaro, and Fiorella.
Filomena was known for her gifted hands. She took great pride in her work as a seamstress, a craft that reflected both her patience and her love for beauty and detail. With every stitch, she poured her heart into what she created whether it was mending clothes for her family, sewing dresses for special occasions, or helping others feel their best. Filomena will be remembered for her tremendous love of her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter and the delicious aroma of her cooking, a reflection of the love she poured into everything she did. Filomena’s greatest joy came from caring for her family, sharing her wisdom, and creating traditions that will live on for generations. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved and was always ready with a smile, a laugh, a kind word or a comforting meal. Filomena’s legacy is one of love, faith and resilience. She taught us to cherish the simple things, such as a family dinner, a shared story, or a moment of laughter and to always hold one another close.
