Felipe Aponte, Sr.

Felipe Aponte Sr. 83, of Iselin, NJ formally of Newark, New Jersey entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Hackensack Meridian JFK Hospital in Edison, New Jersey.   

He was born on February 7th, 1942, in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to Manual Aponte and Petra (Delgado) Aponte.   He worked as a book binder for over 30 years.  He was predeceased by his parents, several brothers and sisters and his sons David and Peter.  

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Althea (Brynes) Aponte.  He is survived by his sisters Elba and Gladys and his brothers Tony and Damaso.  He leaves behind his two sons Felipe Aponte Jr. and Michael and his wife Lisa of Iselin, NJ.  He was loved and adored by his seven grandchildren David, Steven, Jeannette, Emily, Jailene, Martin, and Rachel as well as nine great-grandchildren.  He will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.  

Visitation Thursday May 29, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road Edison. Blessing 11:00am Friday May 30, 2025 at the funeral home followed by interment at Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Union
