Ezilda Moraes, 85, of Edison NJ, passed away peacefully on 30th March 2025 at JFK Hospital NJ.
Born on 14th January 1940, in the quiet and scenic state of Goa, India, Ezilda was the fourth of seven children born to Braz Caridade and Edviges Mathildes Lobo. At the time of her birth, Goa was a Portuguese colony.
On December 30th,1963, at St. Michaels Church, Mahim, Mumbai, she married Joseph Francis Moraes, a sea captain, and enjoyed many adventurous years of travelling around the world while accompanying him on his voyages. Ezilda was a talented seamstress and in her spare time she also loved creating artistic pieces of knitted sweaters, hats etc, tatting, crochet and embroidery.
Before moving to New Jersey in 2010, she lived most of her life in Goa and was well-loved by everyone who knew her - she will be truly missed by all.
Surviving her are her three children, Pierre and his wife Marion, Michelle and her husband Thomas, Rochelle and her 2nd husband Calvin, her eight grandchildren, Daniel, Hannah and Jason, Jessica/Lex and Alexandra Faye/Viresh, Zane/Sharila, Yannick, Evanna as well as two great grandchildren Tia and Tatiana. She is also survived by her 2 siblings, Agnelo and his wife Delvyn, Blasia and her husband John. Ezilda was predeceased by her husband Capt. Joseph Francis Moraes, her siblings Sr. Imelda Lobo, Jerome Lobo, Arlinda Pinto and Hilda Lobo and her son-in-law Terence Thomas Vaz.
