With sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather. Eugene W. Heiser (Gene) was born in Germany; Gene’s family immigrated to the United States in 1927, settling in Elizabeth NJ. While attending St. Mary’s High School Gene ran track, in 1939 he achieved the NJ State Champion in the mile run. After St. Mary’s High School, Gene continued his education enrolling at Seton Hall University. At the start of World War II, Gene enlisted in the Army whereby his first deployment was Operation Torch. Gene served our country from 1942 to 1946 when he received an Honorable Discharge. Gene continued his education at Seton Hall University earning a BS in 1948. In 1949 while visiting the Freedom Train, Gene meet Madeline Bundschuh (Maddy) who he married in 1951. Their marriage lasted 70 years until Maddy’s passing in March 2022. Gene is survived by 3 sons Thomas (Kim), James, Christopher (Pamela) and daughter Carol. 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Gene will be greatly missed. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John Vianney on Friday the 20th at 10:45.
