Emil arrived in the United States in 1947, with $16.00 in his pocket. Emil gave up half of his fortune to help a friend achieve his American Dream, which was a testament to Emil LoChiatto’s character, which remained true throughout his life.

Emil earned a job with General Motors before starting Emil LoChiatto Masonry and Paving in 1955.   He relied heavily on the skill set taught by his father in Italy to build a masonry business in the US.  His son Vito LoChiatto eventually became his right hand man at young age, and took over the business in 1987, forgoing law school plans.

Emil LoChiatto was a devoted husband, father and friend.   He had a passion for life, family gatherings and known for a feast at their table that he and his wife, Josephine prepared throughout the years, during holidays, all occasions and Sunday dinners.  He and his wife Josephine planted a large vegetable garden throughout their many years together.   He was devoted to his family and friends loved the warm weather, the sunshine, and Florida. He was a devoted parishioner of St Helen’s Church, he attended Sunday Mass regularly with Father Anthony, as they shared a very special relationship. He touched many lives and will be remembered for his love of life, faith, generosity, wisdom and love.  We miss you so much. God speed, Dad, Mr. LoChiatto.   We know you are with the good Lord now, mom, family and friends.
