Elsa Daletzki (née Dudde), 89, a beloved wife, mother and Oma passed away on August 26, 2023 in Freehold, NJ. Elsa was born in Gelsenkirchen-Buer, Germany. Elsa came to the United States in 1964, settling in Union, NJ and then moving to Edison in 1969.
Elsa enjoyed singing as a member of Schwäbischer Sängerbund and performing in concerts with the choir, especially at the German Heritage Festival and at St. Patrick’s Cathedral celebrating Steuben Day. She delighted in spending time as a member of the Deutscher Club in Clark and loved the time spent there with friends and family. She loved to travel, cruising over sixty-four voyages throughout the world. She was also employed at AK Stamping in Mountainside for over 30 years of her time in the US.
Elsa is predeceased by her loving husband, Fred Daletzki and her daughter, Gabriele Lauritsen. She is also predeceased by her sister, Linda Zorn. Surviving are her son-in-law, Alan Lauritsen and her grandchildren, Katie (Matt) and Matthew (Shannon), as well as her three great-grandchildren, James, Thomas and Sevyn. She is also survived by her niece, Cynthia Scott. The family will be hosting a memorial service on Friday September 1, 2023 at Gosselin Funeral Home, located at 660 New Dover Rd. Edison, NJ. Cremation will be private.
