Edward Horvath Obituary

Edward S. Horvath, 66, of Edison, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 23, 2021.

Ed was born in New Brunswick, NJ to Margaret (Varga) and Stephen Horvath and was raised in Highland Park, NJ. He was a 1972 graduate of Highland Park High School and earned a BS Degree in Finance from Rider College. Ed married Kathleen M. Howell in October 1978, and they resided in Jackson, NJ prior to moving to Edison in 1983 where they raised two children.

In September 2019, Ed retired from his position as Team Manager and concluded a 33-year career with the Internal Revenue Service, with his last Post of Duty the Mountainside, NJ office. He and his wife were looking forward to a long and happy retirement together.

Ed enjoyed DIY projects both large and small. He was an extremely devoted husband and father and loved family trips to Walt Disney World and spending quality time together at the Jersey Shore. Ed was a fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants.

Ed was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy; his daughter, Kelly and her husband David Ackerman; his son, Thomas; and his cherished Yellow Lab, Chloe.

Ed was a communicant of St. Helena Catholic Church in Edison. A funeral mass will be held at St. Cecelia Church, Iselin, NJ with entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ. Visitation and funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
