Dorothy Macko Obituary

Dorothy Macko, 89, died Sunday, May 24th at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ from complications from a stroke. Born in the Bronx in 1931, she resided in Colonia NJ for the past 61 years. Preceding her retirement, she spent many years working in the cafeteria at Bishop Ahr High School in Edison NJ. Dorothy was a member of St. John Vianney R.C. Church in Colonia.

Daughter of the late Anthony and Agnes Favorito, she was the widow of Henry Macko, who died in 1991. Dorothy is survived by one brother, Joseph Favorito and his wife Paula, and was preceded in death by her brother Robert Favorito, who is survived by his wife, Jane Favorito.

She is survived by her five children, Nancy Clancy and her husband, Jay Price, from Manasquan, her son Paul Macko and his wife Natalie Lee Macko from Flemington, her son Tom Macko from Manalapan, her son Richard Macko and his partner Jennifer Gunn from Aberdeen, and her daughter Jane Kunak and her husband George Kunak from Port Reading.

Dorothy also has eight loving grandchildren - Darryl Clancy, Laura Johnson, Evan Clancy, Renee Rockwood, George Kunak, Matthew Kunak, Rachel Macko and Aaron Macko – and many great grandchildren.

She’ll be remembered for her deep and abiding faith, her love of country, the shore, the Giants, and her ability to see the best in everyone.

As per her wishes, Dorothy will be cremated after a private service, with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
