Doris M Mark

Doris M. Mark, 84, of Colonia, NJ passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025,
surrounded by her loving family after a battle with a long-term illness. Born in
Irvington, NJ, and raised in Union, NJ, Doris was predeceased by her parents
Walter and Elizabeth Kalb, and siblings Rose Kalb, Walter “Richie” Kalb, and
Elizabeth Ann Sudia.
 
On a 1962 CYO Ski Trip, she met the love of her life, Michael “Mickey” Mark.
They wed in 1964 and had a beautiful marriage that spanned more than 60 years.
Doris and Mickey initially lived in Munich, Germany where Mickey was stationed
in the U.S. Army and there they welcomed the birth of their daughter Jennifer.  After
Mickey's military service they settled down and raised their family in Colonia, NJ
where their adoring son Michael was born.
 
Doris was a former long-time member of the Colonia Country Club establishing
many lasting friendships. Doris loved to travel domestically and internationally
with her husband. She was an excellent and passionate Bridge player. Having a
soft spot for rescue cats, she made room in her heart and home caring for one or
more of her newfound furry friends.
 
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Mickey, daughter Jennifer, and
son-in-law Kenrich Bergmann, son Michael III, and grandsons Gregory and Kenneth.
Her niece Debbie Hearns was a constant source of love and support and held a special
place in her life. Doris’s warmth and generosity will be fondly remembered by many
nieces, nephews, respective families, and friends.
 
Doris had a gift for making others feel welcomed and at home, whether at a family
gathering or a club event. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived.
Private funeral services were held at the Gosselin Funeral Home in Edison, NJ, and
a funeral mass at St. John Vianney Church in Colonia, NJ, Monday September 15,
2025. Entombment was at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
