Doris Mack Jengo, born May 5, 1932, passed Monday July 27, 2020 at 88 years of age after a long illness. Devoted mom, grandmother, wife, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, she is predeceased by her devoted husband John, her son Jay, her former son-in-law Brian Wilson, her parents William and Agnes Mack, brother William, and beloved brothers-in-law, sister-in-law and niece. She is survived by her daughter Judy, son John, daughter-in-law Terry, grandson Johnny, sister-in-laws Pat and Anice, brother-in-law Donald and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Doris held many different jobs including working at the crack of dawn at a bakery and also being on staff at Keuffel and Esser Co., while going to school and afterward. She was captain of her high school gymnastics team. She married John V. Jengo on June 26, 1954 and they were married 61 years before her husband passed in 2015, both much loved for their generosity and kindness. Together they raised 3 children. They loved their family and friends. When their kids were young, she volunteered her time to run the refreshment stand for the local Little League.
Doris would always make sure everyone felt welcome in her home and that they were well fed and then some, with her delicious food prepared with an abundance of love. She baked over 2,000 delicious Christmas cookies annually and gave them away to happy recipients. She made Christmas, her favorite holiday, a magical treasure of amazing decorations and a bounty of food and thoughtful gifts. She put her whole heart and soul into everything she did.
Visitation Wednesday July 29, 2020 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services 11:00am Thursday July 30, 2020 at Hazelwood Cemetery Chapel, 64 W. Lake Avenue Colonia, NJ. Interment to follow at the cemetery.
