Dolores Marie Sisk. Beloved mother and grandmother, Dolores (Harkins) Sisk, 89, of Edison, N.J. entered into eternal rest at her home on Thursday, August 3, 2023. Mrs. Sisk was born in Linden, N.J., to Bernard and Katherine (Driscoll) Harkins. She attended St. Elizabeth Grammar School, graduated from Linden High School and worked for Bell Telephone Company.
She married Robert (Bob) Joseph Sisk in 1958. Robert worked for the FBI, causing them to move several times. They began their married lives in Elizabeth, NJ, followed by Little Rock AR, Chicago IL, and settling in Colonia, NJ. where Dolores and Bob raised their four children for the next in 50 years. Mrs. Sisk ultimately moved to Edison in 2013. She was a member of the Colonia Seniors Group.
Mrs. Sisk was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert, in 1994, and by her six siblings and spouses, Donald J. Harkins (Muriel), Rosemary Budrock (Michael), William Harkin, (Marie), Bernard Harkins (Elaine), Rita Miller (Frank) and John P. Harkin (Terry). She is survived by her devoted children, Linda Hayes and her husband, Edward, Rahway, NJ, Patricia Hughes and her husband, Stephen, Edison, son Robert Sisk, Piscataway and son Timothy Sisk, Jacksonville Fla; her cherished grandchildren, Colleen, Ryan, Rob, Stephanie, Eddie and Jake.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral from the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd., Edison, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 8:45Am – 9:45AM. Followed by a 10:00AM Mass at St. Helena Church, Edison. Interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
