Dolores (Hernandez) Robinson, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on January 20, 2021 at her home in Colonia. Born May 2, 1929 in New York City, Dolores grew up in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She worked as a sales clerk for many years in Woolworth stores in New York City, Elizabeth, Linden and Rahway. Later she worked at the Wellworth store in Colonia and the Hit or Miss store in Edison.
Dolores and her beloved late husband Anthony “Tony” Robinson briefly lived in Linden and Rahway before moving to Colonia in 1953 where they raised their family. They were married 60 years and the day of Dolores’ death on January 20th would have marked their 70th anniversary.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents Tomas Hernandez and Francesca (Miranda) Hernandez; husband Tony; and her “little” sister Teresa Hernandez. She is survived by her dear sister Frances Monaco, her niece and goddaughter Theresa Buda and children Jeffrey Robinson and his wife Kathleen, Diane Belanchick and her husband John, Jennifer Kuziw and her husband Cory, and Thomas Robinson and his wife Christina. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristin, Rebecca, and Katye and great-grandchildren Savanah and Richie.
Friends may call from 2:00pm to 5:00pm Sunday January 24,2021 at the Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Funeral services Monday January 25, 2021 8:15am at the funeral home a funeral mass will be said at St John Vianney Church, 420 Inman Avenue, Colonia at 9:30am followed by a graveside service at St Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
