Christine Whitney, 75, of Edison, NJ passed away on May 13, 2025.
Christine Whitney (Coo Coo) was truly one of a kind. She was small in stature but mighty in personality, embracing life with enthusiasm, optimism, and strength.
Christine found joy in the thrill of the game-whether it was lottery scratch-offs or the excitement of slot machines. She had a deep passion for the supernatural world, especially ghost hunting, psychics, and the mysteries of the unknown. She took pride in her storytelling and loved sharing her life experiences with her family. Later in life, she became an author to share her stories with others.
From a young age, Christine was fascinated by television and movies. She cherished movie nights with her family and often rewatched her favorite shows these were some of her greatest joys.
Christine was always authentic and honest with everyone she met. She was a unique individual who lived life entirely on her own terms.
Christine is predeceased by her parents, Chester and Helen Whitney. She is survived by her son Derreck Ahapow of PA, her daughter Rachel Weller of PA, and son Nicholas Ahapow of NJ, grandchildren Derreck, Cory, Patience, Jebediah, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her resilience, curiosity, storytelling, and zest for life.
For those who knew her, it comes as no surprise that Christine wrote her own obituary. Below are Christine's own words about her life and how she wished to be remembered...
"Christine Whitney passed away with her loved ones surrounding her. She lived her life the way she wanted to. She was a great mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt and friend ALWAYS. And for fifteen years a faithful wife. Her nickname was "coo coo" because she was not like normal people. She acted and talked the way she liked. She lived life to the fullest and she will always be around in spirit.
