Cecilia Merlis

Cecilia A Merlis passed away Monday September 6,2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elizabeth and resided in Roselle Park before moving to Colonia in 1965. She was a bookkeeper for Supreme Security Systems in Hillside for 30 years retiring in 2008.

Cecilia loved playing cards, mahjong, and devoting her time volunteering for Deborah Hospital where she served as president for the Colonia Chapter. Being with her family was the most important thing in her life. The values she taught to us will remain in our hearts forever.

She was predeceased by her parents Vito and Elizabeth Razzano, her husband Bernard Merlis, and her sister Margaret Remite. Surviving are her children Pamela McGovern and her husband John, Michael Merlis also 3 grandchildren Stephanie and Jennifer Merlis and Jessica McGovern.

Funeral Services are at 9:30am Friday September 10,2021 at the Gosselin Funeral Home 660 New Dover Road, Edison. Graveside services will be at 10:30am at Mt Lebanon Cemetery Gill Lane Iselin, NJ.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in Cecelia’s name to the Deborah Hospital Foundation.
