Carol J. Isley, 87, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away in her sleep after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She had lived at Laurel Circle Apartments & Assisted Living Facility for nine years. Carol was born in Jersey City to Peter and Frances Thrunk on Christmas Eve, 1937. She had three sisters (Frances, Marilyn, and Gloria) and two brothers (Peter and Robert). She married Robert D. Isley in November 1958 and raised two children: Robert and Karen. They were married for 47 years until her husband, Robert, died on August 14, 2005. Carol worked as the executive assistant to the head of security at White Rose Foods in Carteret, NJ.
She’s survived by her daughter, Karen Isley Ferreira, and son, Robert W. Isley (Kevin Howell); her sisters, Marilyn Higgins and Gloria Barry; her grandchildren, Albano Ferreira (Nikki) and Brittany Bossert; and great-grandchildren, Albano (Hunter), Bryanna, Christian, and Ayden Ferreira.
A viewing will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, NJ 08820, on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Helena’s Roman Catholic Church, 950 Grove Ave, Edison, NJ 08820.
