Camille Angelina Leonow

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Camille Angelina Leonow of Edison, New Jersey on Sunday February 20, 2022 at the age of 79.

Camille was born on December 10, 1942 to Angelo and Marie Miragliotta in Elizabeth, NJ. Growing up in Newark, NJ, she attended Weequahic High school and pursued art degrees from Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts and Rutgers University.

After working in the bridal Industry, Camille taught art and design at Union High School for 35 years. She spent countless hours volunteering in numerous organizations over the years; President of the Art Educators of NJ, President of the Menlo Park Elementary School PTA, member of the Art Society of Monmouth County, and was an integral part of the Maximum Performance Dance Studio.

During her retirement her passion was travelling throughout Europe, especially Italy, to visit family, friends, and planning incredible adventures for her children and grandchildren.

If she wasn’t traveling, Camille loved spending time at her Long Branch summer home with her grandchildren and painting. Camille was an extremely talented artist. She painted several works inspired by the views and cultural artifacts from Italy and Sicily.  Camille also enjoyed cooking traditional dishes of our family’s heritage.

Camille’s greatest passion was caring for her family and her babies (grandchildren.) Everyone who ever met her would agree that she was the BEST Wife, Mother, Nonna, Sister, Aunt, and friend. She saw the good in everyone, spreading kindness and compassion to all.

She is survived by her husband Walter, her two children Maria Fulham (Matt) and Gregory Leonow (Marla), five grandchildren Camryn, Matthew, Kaden, Christina and Emersyn and her sister Marie Service.

Viewing will be held at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, N.J. 08820 on Wednesday, February 23 from 3:00-7:00pm.

Thursday, February 24, 2022, 8:15am at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road, Edison, N.J. 08820. Funeral procession to church departing at 9:00am.

Church and burial service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Memorial Church, 280 S Main St, Bound Brook, NJ 08805.
