Bonita (Ansaldo) Barbosa

Bonita Barbosa, 88, of Clearwater Florida passed away peacefully on May 27, 2022. Born in Newark N.J., to Marion and Carlo Ansaldo on Feb 17,1934. Bonita was the “Most Popular”, graduate of East Side High School in Newark NJ.  She raised 4 children, Gary, Joseph, Laura, and David and resided in Cranford and Toms River, N.J. for most of her life before moving to Florida six years ago. Along with being an amazing woman, Bonita was a super self-sacrificing single mom who worked two jobs to raise her children by working for Allstate during the day and Macy's at night with the help of her Mom (“Nana” - Marion Ansaldo). She then went on to retire to Toms River N.J. Bonita was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family and was a beautiful example of love, compassion, kindness and grace. She always had a smile on her face and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a passion for life and loved family get togethers especially the holidays. Christmas Eve was a very special night for Mom and Nana, where they prepared a delicious meal from soup to nuts for all family and friends to enjoy and loved the spirit of Christmas.

Bonita is survived by son Gary and wife Patty, son Joseph and wife Laurie, son David and wife Lorena and daughter Laura and husband Jody. Grandchildren Dominique, Derrick, Giada, Milania, Carlie and husband Michael, Jamie and husband Michael, Joey and wife Melissa. Great grandchildren Carmen, Justin, Colton, Everett and Owen. Bonita is also survived by many extended family members and lifelong friends.

Funeral services will be on Thursday June 9, 2022 at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Rd. Edison, N.J. from 9:30 to 11:30 am followed by burial at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery 53 Inman Ave Colonia NJ.
