Barbara Ann (Quirk) Kenney passed away peacefully on Sunday March 7th at JFK Medical Center, Edison at the age of 83 with family by her side. Barbara was born to the late William P. and Mary (Lowery) Quirk in Jersey City and graduated from Snyder High School in 1955. She married her beloved husband, William F. Kenney Sr. on June 10, 1961. Together, they moved to Iselin in 1970.
Barbara worked for Bankers Trust before dedicating herself to raising her children. Later, she worked at St. Cecelia’s in the school cafeteria and private catering. She was a parishioner of St Cecelia’s Roman Catholic Church in Iselin.
Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband, William in September of 2014 and her sisters Judy Rzeczkowski and Joan Montecalvo. Surviving are her children William F. Kenney, Jr. and his wife Karen of Iselin, Catherine E. Kenney of Iselin, and Sharon A. De Gregory and her husband James of Cliffwood Beach, 4 grandchildren: William E., Timothy J. and Preston J. Kenney and Kaitlyn C. De Gregory. Additionally, she is survived by her most beloved aunt, Eileen Quirk of Jersey City and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
