It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arnaldo (Arnold) Franco, 80, of
North Edison, NJ, he passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024, leaving a legacy of love,
faith, and service that will forever be remembered. Born in Moreira, Monção Portugal on
August 5, 1943, Arnold's journey through life was marked by devotion, dedication, and a
deep love for his family and community.
After serving with honor and distinction in the Portuguese Navy from 1962 to 1966, Arnold
embarked on a new chapter in New York, where he met and married his beloved wife of
fifty-five years, Luisa Franco. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and shared
Arnold is survived by his devoted wife, Luisa, and their three children - Maria Teresa
(married to Aderito Campos), Arnold and John. He was also a cherished grandfather to
Nicole and Benjamin Campos. His memory lives on in the hearts of his brothers, Abel and
Fernando, and his sisters, Ana Maria (married to Jose Rodrigues) and Helena, along with
their extended families.
During his time in the Portuguese Navy, Arnold's duty involved working on ship engines, a
skill that would later shape his career as the owner of an auto service center for over a
decade. His dedication and strong work ethic were evident in every aspect of his life.
Arnold's true calling, however, was found in his unwavering faith and commitment to
serving others. As a devoted member of the Legion of Mary, he lived out his faith by
touching the lives of those around him. His selflessness shone brightly as he spent countless
hours cooking at a local soup kitchen and volunteering at various institutions, including
Hackensack Meridian JFK Hospital, Menlo Park Veterans Home, Roosevelt Care Center, and
CareOne at the Highlands.
Arnold Franco's impact on the lives of those he encountered was considerable. His kindness,

missed. In his memory, let us carry forward the legacy of love, service, and compassion
that he so beautifully exemplified throughout his life.
