Arlene J Snyder

Arlene Snyder passed away Wednesday June 19, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a full 99 and a half years of life.

Born in Elizabeth NJ to Bernard and Theresa  Sharkey in 1925, she moved to Iselin NJ with her family in 1954.  Arlene was a communicant of St. Cecelia’s Church for many decades and for a time served as secretary to the pastor. 

She  managed a temporary employment service  office for Kelly Services for many years, moving on to Midlantic bank and finishing her working career at Colman Dinning Car Co.  After retirement she continued her work with many church groups including RCIA and by reaching out to help others in the community. 

She is predeceased by her husband Edward, her son Robert and her daughter Deborah as well as her  brothers Bernard, Norbert, Kenneth, Eugene and sister Doris.  She is survived by her son Douglas, grand daughters Sue Pankowski and Anne  Snyder, five great grand children, Justin, Jack, Jazlene, Rocco and Raul as well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Known for the light that her eyes, smile and spirit brought to any gathering she was loved by all  and often thought of as a second mother by many
