Antonio Salomon Obituary

The sun rose and the world became brighter when Antonio was born to Jose Raul Salomon Esparraquera and Aurora Puente Valdez on November 12, 1935, in Santiago de Cuba, Oriente, Cuba.  He spent most of his formative years in Havana, Cuba’s Parraga neighborhood.  In 1974 he came to Miami, Florida through Spain. In 1976, he moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey where he remained a lifelong resident.  Antonio worked at Adamas Carbide in Kenilworth, New Jersey and later retired from the Department of Parks and Recreation of Union County.

My father was a man of simple tastes with a love of going for walks, playing the guitar and listening to English-language talk radio. He found joy and happiness in everything he did and everyone he met. Antonio was beloved, will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Antonio is survived by his wife Marlene and his only daughter, Aurora, her husband Matt and beloved grandson, Hudson. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

One of Antonio’s last requests was to be cremated and placed in an urn so that he may forever accompany me to Marshalls and TJ Maxx.

My father valued an education above all else - in lieu of flavors, should you be so inclined, please donate to FR A SIRIANNI ENDOWMENT FOR ST HELENA SCHOOL INC in the name of his greatest joy, his grandson Hudson Cash Bobertz.
