Antoinette Rose Feola Carrea, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 96. Affectionately known as Grandma Zese, she was born in Italy and moved to the United States after World War II with her family, where she later met her beloved husband, Anthony R. Carrea, who predeceased her.
Antoinette was passionate about food, flowers, and family gatherings. Whether it was her delicious spaghetti sauce or her famous pizza frit, her kitchen was always filled with warmth, storytelling and love. Her joyful spirit and welcoming home were a haven for all. She raised her family in North Edison, New Jersey before moving to Lillington, North Carolina and then returning to New Jersey upon retirement.
She is survived by her five children: Joann Herrick, Antoinette Carrea and husband Demetrius Ribarro, Rita Sweeney and husband Daniel, Patti Wilkins and husband Dwain, and Ron Carrea and wife Tammy, along with her 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A private service will be held for immediate family only at Saint Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, NJ at 11:30 am on Saturday February 14, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made on her behalf to the American Heart Association.
Though she is no longer with us, Antoinette’s love and legacy will remain in our hearts forever.
In loving memory of a joyful spirit who brought warmth and laughter to all.
