Anna R. Wood was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce her passing on October 22, 2023, at the age of 96. Anna will be forever missed by all of her family and friends.
Anna was born on June 20, 1927, in Plainfield NJ, to Michael Wood and Ethel Cobb Wood. She married Joseph Ricci and had three children, Marcia, Joseph and John. After Joseph’s passing, she later married Anthony Colangelo, who had three children Catherine, Peter and Adele. All of the Children blessed her with seven Grandchildren, Jim, Lori, Jimmy, Joey, Jessica, Gabrielle and Melanie. She was also fortunate to be blessed with eleven Great Grandchildren, Amy, Analiese, Brian, James, Skylar, Brooke, Jack, Noah, Daniel, Gianna and Antonio.
Anna’s Catholic faith was very strong and her love for God and the Lord Jesus was unwavering. Every morning Anna would start the day by going into her sunroom and saying prayers. She always thanked God for another new day and for the various blessings that God had bestowed upon her.
She loved to cook and bake, and her holiday meals were a magnificent feast that was enjoyed by the entire family. Anna also found joy in traveling, spending summers at the beach, and having the companionship of her pets. Her backyard was also a great source of pleasure. She would spend many hours in her garden growing beautiful flowers. She also loved sitting on her wicker chair in the sunroom, enjoying the sunny days and watching the birds scamper back and forth in her birdfeeder.
Anna leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength. She was a beacon of love and inspiration, guiding us through the challenges of life. Anna will be remembered for her radiant smile, the love for her family and her ability to find joy in even the smallest of moments.
Anna’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Let us remember her, not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles of gratitude for the beautiful moments we shared with her.
